The coffee market experienced a day of significant price correction, influenced by concerns over the weather conditions in Vietnam. Both in London and New York, the declines were substantial, with robusta losing nearly US$ 300 per ton and arabica dropping over a thousand points during the trading session. These decreases reflect the anticipation of rains in Vietnam, which will bring relief to the crop, although it may not be sufficient to fully recover from the damage caused by the prolonged drought.

Meteorological models indicate that Vietnam can expect rains in the coming days, bringing some relief to the coffee

sector. However, the irregularity of the rains and the high temperatures continue to be a source of concern, especially

during the flowering period. Despite the forecast of rains, the maximum temperatures are expected to remain high, which could impact coffee production in the country.

The current situation highlights the sensitivity of the coffee market to weather conditions, both in Vietnam and in other producing regions. Although the expected rains may alleviate some pressure on prices, uncertainty surrounding future production persists, underscoring the continued importance of closely monitoring meteorological developments and their impact on the coffee market.
