The harvest of robusta and conilon coffee in Brazil is progressing significantly, with Espírito Santo seeing 40% of its area harvested and Rondônia surpassing 70%. According to Cepea, the 2024/25 crop is in full swing despite some complaints about bean size, particularly in Rondônia. However, the quality of the coffee harvested so far has been considered good. This progress is crucial for the sector, which faces challenges with bean sizing but maintains high production quality.

Robusta coffee prices in Brazil are at record levels, driven by projected tight global supply due to adverse weather in Vietnam, the main producer of this variety. This scenario has boosted Brazilian exports, which surpassed 4 million bags in May. Domestically, arabica coffee prices also rose in early June, increasing liquidity. Despite a substantial crop expected for 2024/25, the initial arabica harvest revealed lower yields due to the prevalence of smaller beans.

The arabica coffee harvest in Brazil is gaining momentum, particularly in the South, Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais, and Mogiana Paulista, with harvests between 20% and 30% of the total expected volume. However, some regions, such as Garça in São Paulo and northwestern Paraná, are below 20%, and in the Cerrado of Minas Gerais, only 10% of the estimated production has been harvested. These variations reflect the complexity and challenges of harvesting in different regions, highlighting the importance of monitoring climatic and production conditions to ensure a successful crop.
