EllerS Coffee attends Fundação Procafé Field Day in Varginha, MG

The team at Fundação Procafé held another edition of its Field Day in Varginha, Minas Gerais, bringing together producers, technicians, and coffee industry professionals to discuss crop management, field development, and perspectives for the Brazilian coffee crop.

Representing EllerS Coffee, Julhyana Veloso and Kamila Sousa attended the event, closely following the technical discussions and field observations shared throughout the day.

Due to heavy rainfall, the planned field activities had to be concentrated in the main tent area, which led to an earlier conclusion of the event schedule. Even so, the meeting provided relevant discussions regarding the current condition of coffee plantations, especially concerning the development of the 2026 crop.

Among the main topics discussed was the lower blossom setting rate observed in some areas of Southern Minas Gerais. According to the technical observations presented during the event, certain regions registered rates below what is historically considered normal, mainly as a consequence of the severe water stress faced by the plants throughout the crop cycles of previous years.

Another point highlighted was the earlier fruit drop observed in some regions, associated with earlier flowering periods that occurred as early as August. According to the technicians present, the combination of climate irregularity and water deficit has directly impacted the productive potential of some monitored areas.

The presentations maintained the traditionally technical profile of the event, focusing mainly on crop management practices and solutions presented by agricultural and chemical companies. After the official program ended earlier than expected, the EllerS Coffee team took the opportunity to further explore the experimental areas and document the event through photographs.

In an increasingly climate-sensitive scenario, events such as the Fundação Procafé Field Day continue to serve as important opportunities for technical exchange and for closely monitoring the reality of Brazilian coffee fields.
