On June 14th and 15th, EllerS Coffee, represented by Julhyana Veloso, participated in the 2nd Coffee Camp at Fazenda Cachoeira, an event that brought together coffee enthusiasts and advocates of regenerative agriculture. The event offered deep reflections and hands-on experiences around the production of organic coffee, agroforestry, permaculture, and biodynamic agriculture — a philosophy rooted in the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, which aligns human work with the rhythms of nature and the cosmos.

A Gathering of Purpose

The motivation to join this event was deeply personal and professional, driven by a genuine interest in sustainability, soil regeneration, and the harmonious connection between humans and nature."I've always been inspired by coffee projects that embrace these values. While studying other coffee origins, I noticed a much more human and social approach to production and storytelling, something I felt was still missing here in Brazil," shares Julhyana.

Lessons That Inspire

One of the key takeaways was the importance of caring for the soil as a living organism, capable of nurturing the plants and bringing balance to the ecosystem.

"One story that really touched me was about a leaf miner infestation. Due to delays in obtaining approval for chemical control, nature itself had time to react. Natural predators of the pest arrived and began to control the infestation. This was a beautiful reminder that when we step back, nature knows how to balance itself."

Tasting and Discoveries in the Cup

The cupping sessions were a highlight, showcasing coffees that truly reflect the farm's dedication to biodiversity and sustainable farming practices. The standout was a Catuaí Amarelo from the new harvest, naturally processed, which delivered outstanding quality, remarkable sweetness, and balance.

"The fermented lots also stood out with vibrant, expressive profiles. But something that impressed me deeply was learning how they taste coffees at the very beginning of the harvest to identify which plots show the most potential. This way, they can focus extra care on the rest of the harvest to enhance quality even further."

Coffee, Nature, and the Future

Fazenda Cachoeira is living proof that it's possible to combine production, sustainability, regeneration, and quality. All of this is achieved through deep care, love for the land, and respect for nature and the people involved in the process.

A Transformative Experience

"I left this experience with the reinforced belief that it is absolutely possible to produce sustainably and regeneratively — even at scale. This approach benefits the entire system: consumers receive healthier products, and nature itself restores balance."

EllerS Coffee remains committed to supporting and sharing initiatives that transform the specialty coffee industry — fostering a more conscious, sustainable, and regenerative future for coffee.
